Committed Costs

Committed Costs ⇒ are costs for the company’s infrastructure. They are costs required to establish and maintain the readiness to do business.

Examples of committed costs are intangible assets such as the purchase of a franchise and the purchase of fixed assets such as property, plant, and equipment. They are fixed costs that are usually on the balance sheet as assets and become expenses in the form of depreciation and amortization.
